The court has fixed May 14 for submitting the report of defamation case against BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

However, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mazharul Haq fixed the date for submitting the report as the investigation officer did not submit the report.It is learned from the case that on 21 December 2015, Khaleda Zia said in the discussion meeting organized by Nationalist Freedom Fighters Association in the Engineering Institution of the capital, "Today there are many debates about this, so many hundred thousand martyrs have been killed''.He further said, 'He (Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman) did not want Bangladesh's independence. He wanted to be the Prime Minister of Pakistan. If Ziaur Rahman did not declare independence, liberation war would not have happened.
