Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has proposed to increase the income tax exemption limit of Tk 3 million in the upcoming budget.
At the same time, the organization has recommended 20 percent corporate tax rate reductions in all areas in the next budget.DCCI president Abul Kashem Khan presented these proposals in a pre-budget discussion with the National Board of Revenue (NBR) in Revenue Building in the capital on Tuesday. At present the personal income tax of the individual is 2.5 million taka.Abul Kashem Khan urged to impose surcharge at zero rate at the rate of 5 crore taka and also to determine the surcharge at 10 percent to 15 crore rupees.In addition to getting social, financial and other services on behalf of the organization, tax cardholders are given preferential treatment and tax card tax rates are proposed in six categories in line with the rate of tax payers.
