Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going to sit with all the bank owners in the private sector to resolve the crisis in the banking sector.
The meeting will be held at the Prime Minister's Office on Tuesday (Tuesday) evening. Members of the Board of Directors including the chairman of the bank will be present in the meeting.Bank officials held a meeting with finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith on Friday night on various issues including liquidity crisis, rising interest rates and increasing investment in the banks. Later, in the presence of the finance minister, they also met with Bangladesh Bank governor Fazle Kabir.Bank owners claim the financial crisis started in the bank sector. The interest rate has reached two digits due to the liquidity crisis. In this situation, the bank owners are demanding government deposits and CRR minimization to meet the crisis. In such circumstances, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called the bank owners.
