Neglect of the government to protect the Sundarbans is tragic

The people and the implementation of UNESCO's decisions to protect the Sundarbans is very sad. He expressed fear that the Sundarbans would soon be on the verge of a major disaster if the environmental and forest destruction activities were not stopped.He said this in a rally on behalf of the National Committee for the Sundarbans, Bangladesh Environment Movement (BAPA) and 57 environmental organizations of the country. The rally was held in front of the National Museum in the city's Shahbagh on Saturday morning.Rasheda K. Chowdhury said that if the implementation of the coal-based Rampal thermal power plant, the harm of the Sundarbans would be a scientifically proven one. Sundarbans is part of the world heritage. It is not only Bangladesh, but also the resources of the world. We are proud of this forest. So we have no right to harm it. The devastating project and activities surrounding this forest are very worrisome. We hope that the Prime Minister will not do anything that will ruin the Sundarbans as the daughter of Bangabandhu.
