India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi has filed a defamation suit against Congress President Rahul Gandhi in the Uttar Pradesh Deoria district fast track court on charges of insulting Salve Moni Tripathi, a BJP leader in the state.
In the plenary session of Congress in Delhi, Rahul Gandhi pulled out the name of Narendra Modi, silent Modi and Lalit Modi in the context of corruption. He said that Modi means corrupt.Almost immediately, the BJP protested against Rahul's statement. Then there was a defamation suit. BJP leader of Uttar Pradesh, Salve Moni Tripathi, filed a defamatory suit against Rahul Gandhi under section 499 and 500 on Friday.His claim, that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was corrupt, Rahul injured BJP workers, as well as insulted all the people of the country.
