A powerful earthquake hit the coast of Papua New Guinea. US geological survey agency US Geological Survey said earthquake levels were 6.9 on the Richter scale.

Its depth was 10 kilometers (6 miles).The United States Earthquake Monitoring Agency (USGS) said that according to the Greenwich Standard Time, the earthquake was felt at around 11:30 on Thursday night. About 20,000 people live on the island that felt earthquake. Its origin was 162 kilometers away from Rabaul of New Britain Island.
