For the freedom fighters and their dependents, self-employment training and small loans will be increased in the next financial year.
Now the fund will be given Tk 37 crore, but in phases it will be 50 crore taka.This information was given in the 22nd meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs held in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Thursday. The loan was given through the Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB), said the ministry.Chairman of the committee, AB Tajul Islam, was present in the meeting with members of the committee, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Nurunnabi Chowdhury and Kamrul Laila Jolly.In the previous meeting, the parliamentary committee recommended reviving funds. From the documents presented in the meeting of the parliamentary committee, it is known that, for the financial year 2017-18, till December 17, 12.24 million 91 thousand 34 rupees were spent for the freedom fighters and martyred freedom fighters. During this time, the cost of treatment of freedom fighters was Tk 1.76 crore.
