Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith has commented on the need to focus on creating new sectors and increasing employment for achieving the status of a developing country.
The Finance Minister said at an international workshop titled 'Problems and Prospects' in Hotel Radisson at the capital on Friday.The Finance Minister said, "We now have to focus on creating more jobs. Private sectors will definitely play an important role in this regard. Many domestic resources are still there, they have to bring more investment to utilize them''.
Referring to climate change as one of the main obstacles, Muhith said there is a need to have specific plans to counter the risk of climate change. As well as the social development indicators are good day to day attention also.
Officials of embassies in Dhaka, representatives of international development partners, local businessmen, different ministries and departments were present in the workshop.
Muhith conducted a panel discussion in the workshop. Participants in the workshop also participated in the discussion.
