Deputy Minister of Environment and Forest Abdullah Al Islam Jacob has been elected Vice-Chairman of Bangladesh for the 'South Asian Environmental Cooperation Program Conference'.
It held in Sri Lanka's capital, Colombo. Today, at the meeting of 14th Governing Body of Sipap, chairman of Shah Zaman Mywondi of Afghanistan and elected Vice-Chairman of Bangladesh, Jacob Vaib.Deputy Leader of the Conference said that South Asia has unique geographical and rich biodiversity. We have to take initiative to preserve and protect our natural resources. The most important thing is for us to set up Regional Clearing House Mechanism (CHM) for the wider participation and sharing of information among member countries in the management of biodiversity management.He said that the Environment Department has already created a web based platform for Bangladesh Clearing House Mechanism (BCHM) under the Ministry of Environment and Forests. It will officially be inaugurated soon to provide updated biological information.
