The government has procured 32 types of fire extinguishers and rescue equipment for the modernization of fire service and civil defense stations at the cost of 282.53 million taka in 156 upazilas of the country.
The Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement has approved the proposal of six purchase proposals including a purchase proposal related to the Security Department of the Interior Ministry.The proposal was approved at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement in the chairmanship of Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith in the conference room of the Cabinet Division on Wednesday noon. Committee members, senior secretaries of the cabinet division, secretary of the concerned ministry and senior officials were present in the meeting. After the meeting, Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division Mustafizur Rahman highlighted various aspects of the approved proposals.
The Additional Secretary said the committee approved the proposal to purchase 32 types of fire extinguishers and rescue equipment under the project titled 'Fire and Civil Defense Station Establishment of 156 Upazila Heads of the country, under the implementation of Fire Service and Civil Defense Department under the protection department of the Ministry of Home Affairs. It will cost 282.59 million taka. Several companies will supply these products in several lots.
