The court has fixed Monday (March 19th) the date for the order on the petition of the High Court against the bail granted.
The High Court in the Orphanage Trust corruption case of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, sentenced to five years imprisonment and the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).The four-judge bench of the Appellate Division headed by the Chief Justice gave the ruling on Sunday (18 March) after the hearing.
Advocate Khurshid Alam Khan argued for the ACC in the court. Attorney General Mahbubey Alam administered the state.
Senior advocate Khandaker Mahbub Hossain and AJ Mohammad Ali were hearing for Khaleda Zia.
Earlier on Sunday, the Supreme Court's entry had been tightened. At least four levels of security measures are seen.
Among the BNP leaders, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and Nazrul Islam Khan were present in the court. Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Zainul Abedin, Abdur Rezak Khan and Mahbub Uddin Khokan were among the lawyers.
On March 12, the High Court granted bail to Khaleda Zia for four months. On Tuesday (March 13th), the petition and the ACC filed an appeal against the High Court's stay order for four months.
