BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is now being used as the main tool for suppressing the opposition.
They have again proved themselves to the government's vengeance against the government by giving a leave-to-appeal to Begum Khaleda Zia. The Bangladesh Bank was looted, the banking system was looted by the looted government bank, but the ACC kept its head in the sand like ostrich. There is a word that does not come out from the mouth even against the case.
He said this at a press conference at Nayapaltan central office at around 11pm on Friday.Rizvi said the ACC has left two appeals to the Appellate Division to stop BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's bail. On behalf of ACC, leave to appeal has been made. Prior to the attorney general's plea, before the High Court, the High Court has stayed the bail till BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia on Sunday. The Attorney General rejoiced with the pain of others.
Rizvi further said, however, we still get remedies from the High Court. The expectation of the people is the same as the Attorney General's remedies and the higher courts remain neutral.
