Two dozen meetings between Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh's Economic Commission have started.
The meeting of 12th Bangladesh-Saudi Joint Economic Commission on Riyadh on Wednesday will discuss the cooperation of labor, finance, investment, trade, customs, air transport, agriculture, education, international and social issues.
In the meeting, 26 members of the 17-member delegation led by Economic Relations Division Secretary Kazi Shafiqul Azam and 26 representatives from different ministries and other organizations of Saudi Arabia participated.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Golam Masih and Secretary of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Secretary Namita Haldar also took part in the meeting.
In the inaugural discussion of Joint Commission, Economic Relations Division Secretary Kazi Shafiqul Azam said, "Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh have excellent friendly and fraternal relations, which depend on collective culture, religion, history and heritage."
Kazi Shafiqul Azam urged the Saudi government to set up a training center in Bangladesh to appoint educated and skilled manpower in Saudi Arabia. He requested recruitment of skilled manpower from Bangladesh in IT, engineer, accounting and banking sector. The secretary also mentioned the development of relations between the two universities for higher education and research.
