The joint meeting of the Joint Economic Commission (Joint Economic Commission, JEC) in Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia has started Wednesday.
First day of two days, discussions were held on strengthening cooperation in the fields of labor, finance, investment, trade, customs, air transport, agriculture, education, international and social.
17-member Bangladesh delegation led by Kazi Shafiqul Azam, Secretary of Economic Relations Division attended. Bangladeshi ambassador to Saudi Arabia Golam Masih and Secretary of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry Dr. Namita Halder took part in the meeting.
The Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh said that in the first day of the meeting, discussions on key issues related to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) were discussed. Economic Relations Division Secretary Kazi Shafiqul Azam
In order to appoint trained manpower in Saudi Arabia, the country has asked for a training center to be set up in Bangladesh. He requested recruitment of skilled manpower from Bangladesh in Information Technology, Engineering, Accounting and Bank sector.
In the meeting, issues related to labor issues and interests of Bangladeshi migrant laborers working in Saudi Arabia remain unraveled. The meeting was expected to strengthen the relations between the two countries by increasing cooperation in different areas in the coming days.
