Bangladesh is going to sit for the second time in strategic talks with Britain Experts believe that this dialogue with the country is very significant after the exit of the European Union (EU) from Britain.
According to the pre-schedule schedule, important meetings between the two countries will be held in London on Thursday. Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque will lead Bangladesh in this regard. On the other hand, the country's foreign ministry parliamentary secretary Simon McDonald will lead the British side.Note that the first strategic dialogue between the two countries was held to expand existing relations between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom in March 2007 in Dhaka. Then a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the two countries.According to sources, today's dialogue will focus on the issue of terrorism, breaks, climate change, agenda 2030, returning illegal Bangladeshis, trade and investment etc. In this meeting, Bangladesh can call for British investment in infrastructure, energy, ICT and healthcare sector. Besides, the Rohingya issue may also be discussed in the meeting.
