Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today called upon the beneficiaries of conserving consumer rights to reach every household.
She said that all the officers and employees of 'National Consumer Rights Protection Department' will have a fair and proper role to play in protecting consumer rights. The Prime Minister said this in a message given on Wednesday on the occasion of World Consumer Rights Day.
Expressing his satisfaction over the fact that the country is celebrating World Consumer Rights Day on Thursday,she will greet everyone concerned on this occasion.
Pointing out that the transparent and fair digital market system is very important for ensuring quality of goods and services, the Prime Minister said that the National Consumer Rights Protection Department is playing an important role in this regard and it will continue in the future.
Sheikh Hasina said that the theme of this year, 'ensuring greater transparency and fairness in the digital market system' has become fair and timely.
The Prime Minister mentioned in his message, "Our government has enacted the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009, which is an important law for the consumers of the country. We have taken initiative for digital market management. Various agencies of the government are working to bring transparency and fairness in the digital market system and its durability''.
