Call for appropriate application of existing laws to protect consumer rights

He said, consumer rights are a universal right. Establishing universal rights of equal citizenship for all citizens is very important to build Sonar Bangla in the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The government has enacted the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009 to ensure consumer rights. In order to ensure proper implementation of this law, the people's representatives, the representatives of the Republic, and the people's collective efforts are needed.Abdul Hamid said that Bangladesh is currently enjoying the benefits of digital market in the country's strenuous efforts. E-mail and social media support is being taken for consumer complaints and remedies. In this context, this year's theme for World Consumer Rights Day "ensuring greater transparency and fairness in the digital market system" has become very significant and timely.
