The court has fixed 23 August as the date for hearing of the allegation against Comilla City Corporation Mayor and BNP leader Monirul Haque Sakku in the case of acquiring illegal assets and concealing information.
The case was fixed on Sunday for hearing in the case. Mayor Sakku was unable to appear before the court due to illness. He appealed for the time to withdraw the hearing of his lawyer Masud Ahmed Talukder.After the hearing, Judge of the Special Judge Court-8, Selima Begum, granted the application on time and fixed the date for the next hearing on August 23.Senior Special Judge Kamrul Hossain Molla issued the arrest warrant against Sakkak on April 18 last year. Then he surrendered and secured bail.
