Sri Lankan President Mithripala Sirisena called on Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to strengthen the trade ties, opposition leader Rowshan Ershad said.
She said this while on a courtesy call with Maithripala Sirisena in a capital city on Friday.Raushan Ershad said that due to improving the quality of the products, import-export trade has always been Bangladesh. But due to the recent imposition of duty barriers to exporting Sri Lanka's goods, there is some disruption in import of Bangladeshi goods. With the Sri Lankan President's visit, the trade relations between the two countries will be strengthened by solving the existing problems, including tariff barriers.During this time, the Sri Lankan President mentioned the historic linkage between the two countries' history and culture and said that through this visit, bilateral and multilateral relations will be strengthened and strengthened.She also said that there is a huge demand for Bangladeshi products in his country. Especially rice, agricultural products, pharmaceuticals, ready made garments, cement, paper, plastic products, ceramics and furniture.
