President emphasized the need to find out the possibility of trade and investment between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka through joint venture.
The President called on visiting Sri Lankan President Mithripala Sirisena on Friday evening at Bangabhaban.The President said, there are excellent possibilities of exporting ceramics, vegetables, plastic products, medicines, electronics products, footwear, iron and steel from Bangladesh. There is considerable potential for trade expansion between the two countries.President of Sri Lanka welcomed the President and his entourage. Abdul Hamid said there is a long and historic relationship between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.He hoped that Bangladesh and Sri Lanka would strengthen the traditional close relationship with the people of South Asia region for socio-economic development and economic emancipation.
