Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that cooperatives should be formed for the increase of sheep production across the country and facilitating marketing.
He said this at a function in the Prime Minister's Office on the occasion of the transfer of various products made by the local sheep wool, jute and yarn.The Prime Minister said, if the sheep can be produced through co-operatives, the farmers will get the benefits of marketing. Therefore, we should take an initiative. The people of this country will be more encouraged. The Prime Minister assured the reduction in the interest rate of the bank loan in this sector to increase the production of sheep.Sheikh Hasina said there is no interest in sacrificing cattle and goats while sacrificing cattle and goats. People can be encouraged to offer sheep sacrifice.The Prime Minister thanked the concerned people for marketing products from sheep wool and ordered them to start marketing. Emphasizing the need to meet domestic needs as well as sending them abroad. He also urged export of various products made from bones and skin in addition to other animal-like animals like sheep.Highlighting the role of research on increasing the production of rice, fish and other crops, he said, if they did not give importance to the research in 1996, they would not have been.The Prime Minister expressed hope that the production of Jute will be made as well as the production of jute with the wool of the fishermen. At the same time, he emphasized on increasing production of black goats and other dairy and animal meat production.
