Bangladesh Bank has urged private and foreign banks to stand beside the flood victims in several districts of the country.
At the same time, it has been instructed to provide necessary financial and relief assistance to the flood affected areas under social responsibility or corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.The directive was issued on Wednesday from the Sustainable Finance Department of Central Bank.It has been directed to show the expenditure on the bank's 'Social Project' area in the applicable sub-region. It has been told to follow the notification issued on December 22, 2014.It has been stated in the direction that under the CSR program for overall sustainable development, it is being advised to provide necessary funding and relief (food, clothes, pure water, urgent medicine etc.) among the helpless people in the flood affected areas across the country.
