'Bangladesh Road Transport Authority Bill-2017' has been leased to implement motor vehicles and public transport to reduce traffic congestion and implementation of private carriage plan.
The bill has been passed in Parliament on Tuesday.The proposal for establishment of 'Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA)' has been proposed to provide speedy and better service for the delivery of motor vehicle registration, route permit, fitness, driving license issue and renewal etc.. Road Transport and Stress Minister Obaidul Quader presented the bill in the session of the Parliament, chaired by Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury. Later, the bill was passed on to the voip. Earlier, the proposal for verification of public opinion on the bill and sending it to the committee was rejected.Earlier on 6 February, after the bill was raised in the Parliament, it was sent to the concerned parliamentary committee for further examination.
