Local Government and Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain said 87 percent of the population currently enjoying pure drinking water in Bangladesh.

The present government has implemented various projects to ensure better drinking water for all.Parliament MP Moulvibazar-2 constituency MP In response to a question from Abdul Matin, local government and rural development and cooperative minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain told the information.Mosharraf Hossain said that the present government is committed to ensuring the provision of drinking water for all. To this end, the Department of Public Health Engineering under the Local Government Division is implementing various projects.He also said that the Department of Public Health Engineering has implemented four rural water supply projects in remote areas of the country at about 1600 crores. Nearly one million water sources will be set up under these projects. Meanwhile, about 45 thousand safe water sources have been established in the year 2016-17.
