Bangladesh Power Development Board is going to set up a seven-quarters-four-megawatt solar power plant at Kaptai in Rangamati district.
On Monday, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Dhaka office sources said that an agreement has been signed on Sunday in the power plant. PDB Secretary Masuduzzaman and Joint Director of Project Management of ZTE Corporation, Li Yi signed the agreement.ADB will provide financial support to the project. Project cost is about 77 crore taka China's ZTE Corporation will implement the project. The construction of the infrastructure from August next year will begin in the Chinese contracting company ZTE. They will finish the work in a year.It is learned that PDB has installed power technology from 10 percent solar power generation by 2020. As part of this, the construction of solar power plants in different parts of the country has started. At this center, the cost of production of kWh electricity will be 5 taka 48 paisa. It is expected that power will be added to the national grid from this center in August next year.
