Jute research institute Bill-2017 has been passed in the direction of establishment of institutes for conducting research on relevant issues.
Including the invention of improved varieties of jute, simplification of production and innovation of technology in multipurpose use.The bill was passed unanimously on Monday in Kantho by the National Parliament. Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury proposed to pass the bill.It is rejected by the Kantha Vote, if Jatiya Party's Nurul Islam Omar, Nurul Islam Milon, Begum Rowshan Ara Mannan Bill sent a proposal and amendment to the selection committee.The Jute Research Institute Act 1974 which has been abolished in the bill has been repealed. However, Bangladesh Jute Research Institute established under this Act has been kept so that it has been established under the provisions of the bill.
