Tuesday World Population Day. Like other countries of the world, the day will be celebrated through various programs in Bangladesh.
The theme of the year is 'family planning: people's empowerment, development of nation'.President Abdul Hamid has issued a message on the occasion of the day. In the statement, he mentioned that family planning or planned family is one of the prerequisites for development of a country. When the size of the family is small, it plays an important role in the formation of a happy and prosperous country as well as meeting other basic rights including education and health of the members. Considering the size, location, population, natural resources, environment, and socio-economic status of Bangladesh, there is no alternative to family planning system, increasing the rate of acceptance of a planned family. The government has been implementing various programs for population control on priority basis by pursuing the importance of the subject.
