Customs intelligence seized 2,000 tons of toxic substance mixed with harmful chemicals for public health from Chittagong Port.
The harmful chemical substance is sodium sulphate. Which is very harmful for the human body. It is used mainly in making detergent and in various industries as a dyeing agent.On 20 June, the shipment of sodium chloride (food salt) mixed with harmful chemical substances was seized during the acquisition of Chittagong Port. Based on the outcome of the chemical examination of samples from the applied chemistry department, the duty intelligence on Monday was confirmed.Director General of the Directorate of Customs and Investigation Moinul Khan told these informed.Customs Intelligence sources said, two importers of Chittagong Khatunganj company M / s Ajmari Trading Corporation and M / s Asha Enterprises imported 2,000 tons of toxic food salt mixed with harmful chemicals from China.
