Women entrepreneurs face social and cultural barriers as well as obtaining capital, licensing, management as well as managing business activities.
The number of women entrepreneurs in the case of bank loans is less than the number of people.Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) President Abul Kashem Khan said on Sunday the closing ceremony of the two-day training workshop for the development of women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh. The DCCI and the Swiss-based Tractoral Group Foundation jointly organized the workshop.Dhaka Chamber President Abul Kashem Khan said in his speech, according to the Bangladesh Bank estimates, in the year 2016, SME sector women entrepreneurs have been disbursed between Tk 5,345 crore, which is just 3.77 percent of the total debt distribution in this sector.The DCCI President said that the need to work together to resolve the obstacles of women entrepreneurs and to ensure the economic independence and empowerment of the women in the state and social institutions.
