Fisheries and Livestock Minister Saidul Haque said that the present government is on the path to becoming a middle income country by implementing Vision 2021.
He said that to achieve the sustainable development target (SDG) target by 2030, we have to ensure the highest utilization of all our aquatic, land, internal and marine natural resources.He said this at the inaugural function of the workshop on Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council on Sunday.The minister said, to increase the number of livestock and poultry, mother fish, fish eggs, snails, mollusks, measurable and foresighted use of all types of animals should be ensured considering local meat needs.He said that creating opportunities for establishing and supplying modern farming fisheries and livestock resources will create job opportunities for all able people. Currently, SDG has total 17 targets and 169 targets. Of which, the Ministry of Fisheries and Water Resources is concerned with 11 targets and 39 targets, which the Ministry has been working relentlessly to achieve this.In the inauguration of the workshop, the Minister of the Planning Commission (Senior Secretary), appreciated the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock. Shamsul Alam said that this ministry has submitted their plans in due course. If we can formulate all the plans in the time frame, then we will be the first action-planner of the world.
