United States Pacific Commander Meeting with the Prime Minister

In a briefing after a meeting, Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said that Admiral Harris discussed the anti-terrorism activities in this region and offered Bangladesh assistance to provide training in this regard.Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the money and the supply of troops must be stopped to curb terrorism. Terrorists have no geographical limits, no religion. He said, exchange of data in the fight against terrorism is very important. Sheikh Hasina apprised Admiral Harris about the government's move to make people aware about the threat of terrorism through video conferences with the people of different classes and occupations. He said that this initiative has found very positive results and the people are helping the law enforcement agencies to find terrorists.The Prime Minister also said that Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony, where people of different religions are together in harmony. He recalled the assistance of the US Navy after the horrific cyclone in 1991.
