Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said that the government is always beside the flood victims with the necessary steps to eliminate the menace caused by floods.
He said this while visiting a floodplain area in Golapganj upazila of Sylhet today.Referring to a flood of flood prone areas, the Education Minister said that the Prime Minister is taking time to explore the situation in flood situation. The administration has been ordered to provide relief material to the people of the distressed areas.He visited the areas surrounded by flooded areas of Vishnwar, Sharifganj and Badipasha Union under Golapganj upazila from 10am today. During this time, he talked to local people and inquired about them.Golapganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Altaf Hossain, Golapganj Municipality Awami League General Secretary Syed Misbah, former chairman of Khandurbar Union Parishad Chalik Ahmad, Badipasha Union Parishad chairman Mostaq Ahmad were with the education minister at the time.
