BNP has seen it as a 'victory of the people' in the Supreme Court's verdict against the power to remove the judges in the sixteenth amendment of the constitution.
Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said at a press conference on Monday, "The power to remove the judges in the constitution through the Sixteenth Amendment was taken by the Jatiya Sangsad. Bangladesh Supreme Court declared it illegal. The Supreme Court dismissed the appeal filed by the prosecution against the High Court verdict.The press conference was held at the central office of Nayapaltan in the capital.Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, "Bangladesh Nationalist Party - BNP, calling this decision as victory of the people. The plot failed in the decision of the highest court of the government, which had misled the judiciary''.
