Phil Simmons, former West Indies cricketer, has submitted the application form to Team India coach.In addition to Simmons, many South African greats have submitted the application to coach Indian cricket team. Simmons was the coach of the West Indies cricket team. Earlier, he expressed interest in being the Indian cricket coach. However, the former Caribbean and Openers officially submitted the application.West Indies win the title under Simmons in the T20 World Cup held in India in 2016. In September last year, the West Indies Cricket Board dismissed him by accusing him of disagreements of different cultural and strategic initiatives.
