The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced the 12-man squad for the first Test against South Africa.
Middle medium pacer Toby Roland-Jones has been called for the first time in the Test squad. Jones' one-day debut against Ireland at Lord's in June. He took 22 wickets in the current Spacesaver County Championship.Yorkshire captain Gary Ballance has been named in the squad. Hampshire spinner Liam Dasen also has Mark Wood played last year for England in October 2015. The selectors have taken this pacer right handed right now. Jack Ball and Chris Woakes not in the squad due to injuries. Jack the ball got the right knee. Chris Woakes has also suffered a side strain injury.Joe Root took the responsibility of captaincy in Alastair Cook last February. Route to start captaining career with South Africa.
