Banking sector in Bangladesh is very delicate; Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith has commented on the fact that the whole economy can be put at large risk.

He said various steps are being taken so that the economy is not at risk.On Thursday morning, when the finance minister raised a proposal with the President in the parliament, six opposition MPs opposed it. The minister said this while answering their objection.The Finance Minister proposed to grant the President Tk 53,833 crore 80 lakh for the necessary financial assistance and development expenditure for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2018.Muhith said 80 percent of the traders in the economy are managed in the private sector and they are doing well. In the last 8 years, the banking sector and the money market are working fairly. You will be able to see the benefits of the steps taken in reforming money market and banking sector. Currently, 58 banks are operating in Bangladesh.The Finance Minister said, the depositors are affected due to the burning of the bank. That's why the government is kept away from business activities because the government does not work well.
