Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has said that in order to ensure the opportunities for higher education, government, private initiative, every district of the country has a plan to set up a government general or specialized university.
In response to a written question of Begum Pinu Khan, a member of the government's parliament, he said these words.Education Minister said two more public universities will be established in the country. The law has been approved in the cabinet with the aim of setting up a public university named 'Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa University Mujib Science and Technology University' and 'University of Sheikh Hasina'. The bill has now been sent to the Finance Department for the approval of the President and the Chancellor.He said that there are 134 universities under the Ministry of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of Education. Of these, there are 39 government and 95 private universities. These universities have 6 lakh 26 thousand 358 seats for admission to graduation level.Earlier, the parliament session began with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury in the chair at 10pm.
