Road transport and construction minister Obaidul Quader has urged the passengers to stay away from the journey, claiming there is no suffering in the country.
He said this at a meeting at Savar's Hemayetpur road in the traffic congestion on Saturday noon.Taking a dig at 17 people killed in road accidents in Rangpur, Obaidul Quader said they were going home to the cement truck with the risk of saving a few bucks. They themselves risked their lives. It is a good way to go home without risk. An investigation committee has been formed to investigate how this accident happened.The minister said militancy is now a global problem. There are problems in different countries of the world. Militant elimination in Bangladesh can not be said right now. They can attack anytime. That's why the police forces are cautious.Regarding the BNP's movement after the Eid, Obaidul Quader said, "I have been seeing the people for the last eight and a half years. But there was no movement. After the Eid, many people have heard that movement. But after one successive Eid, there was no movement. It is not clear whether they will move in any Eid''.
