At least nine people, including a policeman, were killed and 12 others injured in a car bomb explosion in Pakistan.
The attack was carried out near the provincial police chief's office in the southwestern Quetta city on Friday morning, officials said.Local police officer Mohammad Akbar said that the attack was carried out targeting a police checkpoint near the Balochistan police chief's office.Al Jazeera, a senior police official named Ali Margan, said at least five policemen were among the dead. Five of the injured were in critical condition.Provincial government spokesman Anwar-ul-Haq told the local Geo News Channel that at 8:45 am local time, an old car was passing by the police chief's office. The car exploded after police officials asked to stop the car.
