The government of Bangladesh has decided to introduce two more new rail routes for goods and passenger transport.
Multiple officials of the Ministry of Foreign and Railways confirmed this information.Some of the colonial periods will be launched. There is also a plan to introduce new two routes. Railway Ministry's chief planning officer Anwarul Haque informed the information.Anwarul Haque said, there was already Chilahati-Haldibari route. We have taken the initiative to start the route again. It will be a project of Tk 78 crore. Under the project, 10 kilometer rail track will be built in Bangladesh. Road to India will be constructed seven kilometers. It is expected to be operational by 2019.Apart from this, initiatives have been taken to construct new railway roads on Akhaura-Agartala route with the cost of 477 crore taka. 10 kilometer road will be built towards Bangladesh. There is a possibility of launching the route by 2018.Kulaura-Shahjadpur route is out of date. Meanwhile, the tender has been called for the launch of the route. It is also being studied for the construction of new route Feni-Bialonia rail road. The road will be about 20 kilometers long.
