Vietnam's new ambassador to Dhaka, Tren Van Kho, said in the next 15 days that the first rice export from Vietnam will come to Bangladesh.
He told the information by meeting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban's office on Thursday.After the Prime Minister's meeting with the new ambassador of Vietnam, Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters on the matter. He said the Ambassador expressed satisfaction over the Memorandum of Communications between Bangladesh and Vietnam and said that the first shipment of rice from Vietnam to Chittagong would arrive in Chittagong within 15 days.
Regarding importing of rice, the Prime Minister said that additional food is being preserved in the face of any situation.
Appreciating Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's dynamic leadership, the ambassador said that 'final success' has been achieved in many cases under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.The Vietnamese ambassador praised Bangladesh's increasing efforts to combat militant and counterterrorism and adverse effects of climate, said there are many similarities between the two countries and there is a lot to learn from each other.Bangladesh's Vietnamese Ambassador praised Bangladesh for more than 7 percent of economic growth.Ihsanul Karim said the Prime Minister also laid emphasis on strengthening communication and economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Southeast Asian countries.Among others, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury and Prime Minister's Office Suraiya Begum were also present.
