Barrister Moudud's trial begins in ACC

The formal trial against him has started in the form of allegations.Judge of the Special Judge Court-6 of Dhaka KM Imrul Kayes rejected the appeal of exemption of Moudud Ahmed and asked him to start the trial. At the same time the judge fixed the date for the testimony on July 26 in the case.Helal Uddin of the relevant court told the information.Barrister Moudud Ahmed himself heard the case for exemption. He was accompanied by Taherul Islam Touhid and KM Khairul Kabir.On 16 September 2007, ACC Deputy Director Shariful Haq Siddiqui filed the case with Gulshan Police Station. On May 14, 2008, the investigating officer, ACC Deputy Director Sharifur Haque Siddiqui filed the charge sheet in the court.The chargesheet was filed against Moudud Ahmed on charges of possessing information worth Tk 44.5 million, and acquiring illegal assets of 9 crore 4 lakh 37 thousand and 333 taka.After the charge sheet was submitted, the proceedings of the high court order for nearly six years were suspended since 2008. The proceedings of the lower court began in 2014 as the High Court's suspension was withdrawn.
