In the proposed budget, a lawyer has sent legal notice for withdrawal of excise duty and cancellation of the law on the deposit.
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court lawyer Yunus Ali Akand sent the notice to the Registry.The notice was sent to the Cabinet Secretary, Parliament Secretariat Secretary, Finance Secretary and Parliament Speaker.The lawyer said that if the action is not taken in the next 72 hours, the writ will be filed in the High Court.
The Finance Minister made a proposal to cut excise duty of 800 taka while depositing 1 to 10 lakhs in the proposed budget. More taxes have been made to cut tariff rates.
