Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya said that for the victims of the hill,1 thousand tonnes of rice, 84 lakh and 5 bundle tin has been provided in the three hill districts and the houses of the victims will be made.
He said this at an inter-ministerial meeting at the conference room of the Ministry of Disaster and Relief at the Secretariat on Tuesday noon.The minister said 166 civilians, including military personnel, were killed in the hill-related collapse in three hill districts. After the hill collapse, roads are being opened, electricity supply is normal. There is no shortage of food for us. The houses of the victims will be made. These will be done according to the demand of the Deputy Commissioner.He further said, Eid in front and rain also occurred. If the hill collapses again, helpless people will suffer more. For this, shelter centers will continue till 15 July. Those who have taken refuge will stay there. Here they will be provided with necessary medical and food.The minister said short, medium and long-term plans are being taken to avoid hill collapse. Cutting of hills, sand extraction and housing activities will be stopped. Land collapse survey and map will be created.Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Shahkamal and secretary of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Ministry Nab Vikram Kishore Tripura were also present.
