The Department of Infectious Disease Control (CDC) of Health Department has started awareness campaign to protect the people from Chikungunya.

The program started from 9th and 10th wards of Mirpur-1 in the capital on Monday.The campaign will be run in nine wards of Dhaka North City Corporation and 5 districts of South City Corporation for the next 5 days. In the campaign, 5 doctors, 5 nurses, 2 local mosques, two local councilors, teachers representatives and important dignitaries will participate in the campaign.In addition, the Controll Room will be open for the prevention of Chikungunya and Tuesday committee will be formed to oversee this control room. This control room will be kept continuously in different places including hospitals throughout the country.Director of Infectious Disease Control (CDC) Line, Professor Dr. Sania Tahmina said that we started this awareness campaign to raise awareness of the people to prevent the spread of Chikunguniyar. Advising not to panic about Chikungunya fever, he said, you will not panic about Chikungunya fever. Mosquito nets should be sleeping and be aware that somewhere around the house there is no water stored for more than 3 days. Chikungunya is not a deadly disease. Everyone has to be aware. It is possible to prevent this disease if you are aware.
