Chairman of Bangladesh Press Council Justice Mohammad Momtaz Uddin Ahmed sought separate allocation for journalists in the budget.
He said this as the chief guest at a workshop on journalism policy, objective journalism and newspaper related laws in Rangpur Circuit House on Monday.Mohammad Momtaz Uddin Ahmed said, the budget has been made on four lakh crore taka. There was not a single penny for the journalists. Although journalists have a respectable job, there is no allocation for them in the budget.He also said that the biggest obstacle in the way of discharging the wageboard is caused by the newspaper owners. They are not doing their duty properly to their journalists. As a result, journalists are getting acquainted with their fair debts.
