Shahjalal airport signing the construction contract of the third terminal

The project will be completed in December 2019 and the construction work will be completed in April 2021. In the meantime, the Civil Aviation Authority (Cognizant) has appointed four organizations as joint consultants to implement the project.Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon said this at an agreement signing ceremony with Japanese consultant firm Nippan Kyero at the head office of Civil Aviation Authority on Sunday.Menon said the passenger handling capability of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport is 8 million annually and cargo handling capacity is 200 million tons annually. Airport handling has already lost capacity. Passenger handling capability will lose capacity in 2018. That's why the airport expansion project has been taken up.
