All the life-saving medicines are free of VAT, said National Board of Revenue Chairman Najibur Rahman.
He said this at a roundtable titled 'VAT in the sector' organized by the Bangladesh Pharmacy Council in the capital on Saturday.Najibur Rahman said, "If the import of life-saving medicines in the future, they will also be free from VAT''.Health Minister Zahid Malik said that the proposed budget will not affect the health sector. And the big challenge before the present government is to ensure the quality of health of the people. The government is working on that goal.National Board of Revenue (VAT) Barrister Jahangir Hossain said there is no possibility of price rise in the country's market. The new budget, implemented by the proposed budget of fiscal year 2017-18, will not be required to pay any type of VAT (VAT) tax for buying medicines.He said, in the new VAT Act, 15 per cent of the VAT generating companies will be paid as before. As a result, customers will not need to pay any VAT.
