Zia Orphanage Trust deferred the hearing of BNP chairperson's Khaleda Zia's bail plea in the case of corruption on 15 June.
The case was fixed on Thursday for Khaleda Zia's defense. Khaleda Zia appeared before the court at around 11pm. But the case has been moved to the Appeal Department against the order to dismiss the re-investigation of the High Court order. Khaleda Zia's lawyer Barrister Jamir Uddin Sarkar, appearing for the hearing on the next hearing on July 3, said that JJ Mohammad Ali has applied for time to back his defense.After the hearing, the judge of the five-judge Special Judge placed in the parade ground of Bakshibazar's Prison Department of Old Dhaka said. Md. Akhtaruzzaman granted the application on time and fixed the next hearing date on 15 June.The ACC filed the Zia Orphanage case for embezzlement of 20 million 71 thousand 671 from abroad for orphans. On July 3, 2008, the case was filed with Ramna Police Station.On August 5, 2009, the chargesheet was filed against the ACC accused in the court.
