Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said, "The people of general and the low paid people keep the money in the bank.
Taxes should be imposed on rich people with the exception of low income people. It is not right to impose taxes on savings and fixed deposits''.The minister said this during a general discussion on the proposed budget of the fiscal year 2017-18.
Mozammel Haque said, "I am a member of cabinets. The budget has passed in the cabinet. Talking against it is anti-morality. But I was elected by the people's vote. They will have to talk about it''.AKM Mozammel Haque demanded to reduce the interest on savings certificate.The ruling party's lawmaker Professor Ali Ashraf claimed almost the same. He said, 'Social security cover covers increases. The quality of life of the people of the country, including socio-economic status, physical infrastructure development, improved the quality of life of the people. Bangladesh will certainly be able to achieve sustainable development targets (SDGs) considering achieving growth target and considering all the perspectives, including lower inflation.
